Mountings

Lee can furnish mountings for either portable or stationary agitators. Lee offers a full line of agitators from scraped surface single-motion to double-motion with turbine blades or high-sheer.

  • Portable agitators are nozzle mounted or on brackets
  • Stationary agitators can be bridge or dome mounted

Uniflow Jacket

Lee’s Uniflow coil jacket provides the most efficient and durable jacket design for a wide range of processing applications. Our exclusive coil construction is fabricated on site, and allows for uniform process fluid flow, extremely efficient and evenly distributed heat transfer, reduced batch times, and controlled processing through zoning. These lead to reduced production costs, ultimately saving our customers time and money.

Lee’s Uniflow jacket assures uniform thermal flow and more active feet of heat exchange surface than competitive jacket designs. Uniflow coil style heat transfer jackets are available on all Lee tanks and are ideal for all heating and cooling media.

Uniflow Provides:

  • Various flow circuits for liquid or vapor phase heating/cooling
  • Ease in zoning that is ideal for heating/cooling processes
  • An optional scraped surface agitation
  • An open style jacket for smaller tanks and low pressure requirements
  • Reduced batch processing time
  • Increased production capacity
  • Uniform thermal flow
  • Elimination of hot/cold spots
  • Increased heat transfer area
  • Controlled batch processing through zones
  • Ability to heat and cool in same vessel

Single motion, double motion and high shear mixer systems are among the wide variety of custom scraped surface mixing systems available.

General Accessories/Designs

Finishes

Diameter and depth of tank cylinder can vary to correspond to size and process requirements. Our standard finish is #4 inside and out. Finishes from mill finish through the exclusive Lee super #7 (less than #6Ra) are available inside and out. Electro-polishing is also available.

Tank Bottom Styles

Three bottom styles are available in any finish from 2B to super #7 plus electro-polish. Each offers unique advantages:

  • Pitched – excellent drainage for liquids and places the outlet on a horizontal axis
  • Dished – offers center draining for viscous products (reverse dish also available)
  • Cone – ideal for viscous or semi-solid materials (standard angle is 120° and can be varied to meet process/product requirements)

Manways

Lee manways are available in any grade of stainless steel or other highly corrosion-resistant alloys with Type 316L as standard. High-strength molded plastic wing nuts with stainless steel inserts as standard are used on the manway, which provide for quick access. T-16 Waukesha metal wing nuts are offered as an option. All gaskets are self-retained in the manway dome ring by the use of a specially machined dovetail groove. Standard gasket material is white neoprene with black neoprene and is standard on the atmospheric design. Silicone, viton and EPDM are also available upon request.

Lee manways are designed for use in atmospheric conditions as well as completely ASME approved designs up to 95 PSIG and full vacuum environments.

The most economical and fast delivery date manways are 18” in diameter. However, all designs are available up to 30” in diameter upon request.
